Karry Kamal Karry has given himself a challenge, to return to the stage 15 years after his last performance with a multidisciplinary project of dance, music, 3D video to celebrate his 50th birthday and a performance installation (dance, theater, music, video) around the concept of labyrinth. With this double project, he proposes to undertake a vast journey, to wander inside a labyrinth. The show is carried by the Goldberg Variations (BWV 988), a monumental work, one of the very few engraved during Johann Sebastian Bach's lifetime.
Along the way, Karry Kamal Karry choreographs and stages for the stage version a process of travel, necessary to survive in a world where everything becomes a labyrinth again. And where getting lost is the only way to find yourself.
But it is not only for the taste of the past that the choreographer-director and visual artist takes us on a fascinating journey to the heart of the maze. From economic and financial globalization to computer networks, from the discoveries of psychoanalysis to those of genetics, the notions of binary choice, ramification and interaction are at the heart of the version - performative installation.
