[FABRIKACORPS+ - Appel à participation]

FabriKaCorps+ Multidisciplinary research-laboratory on the body as an object of consumption

On an initiative of K3MK Company, and the poles K3+ & Co (commissions) and Lab Media Project (cultural mediation laboratory), in partnership with festivals, theatres, centres, schools, universities, galleries, contemporary art museums, launches a call for participation in the project entitled FabriKaCorps+.

Our device consists of a three-year project, inspired by the reading of publications on the philosophy of the body "Thinking the body" by Michaela Marzano in particular. We will question the concept of "consumed bodies", i.e. the body as an object of consumption, and its nature as an artefact.

La fabrique du corps - COC, Corps-Objet de Consommation - is a multidisciplinary and participative research and creation process located on the European territory. During three years, K3MK Company will create with its partners, collaborators and the associated public a stage work, performances, a monthly radio show, participative workshops, seminars, a webTv, a multimedia device and a documentary.

All these creations will always be reflexive, i.e. associated with a process of research and theorization. FabriKacorps+ aims to be a committed and political initiative, expressing social issues through art. Moreover, the process of creation and multidisciplinary research is not predetermined: if it follows great guidelines, FabriKacorps+ will be above all the result of the collective implementation of such a process, by solidarizing practitioners and theorists around the project.

The main axes of FabriKacorps+ are the following:

- The fabrication of the body (sport, food, cosmetic surgery, so-called comfort drugs): the healthy and useful body;

- The socialisation of the body (fashion, brands, accessories, attitudes): the normalised and powerful body;

- The privatisation of the body (science and the body) and the use of the body (pornography, etc.): the disappropriated body.

Exploring the body in the arts (Inscribing the body in 21st century artistic mediums)

Open to a diversity of artistic and scientific practices, this call for applications is addressed to researchers and artists: dancers, actors, musicians, singers, visual artists, performers, video artists, photographers, writers, philosophers, sociologists, doctors, architects, designers, stylists, etc., and invites them to take up the theme of "The Body as an Object of Consumption (B.O.C.)", making it the focus of their work. O.C)" echoing our world, its contemporary stakes and its relationship with the new representations of the body, within the framework of the project of the Fabrique-laboratory of multidisciplinary research-creation on the body as an object of consumption organized by the poles "K3+ & Co / Ensemble Art Performance / Lab Media Project" of K3MK Company from September 2023 to December 31, 2026

On the occasion of the project FabriKaCorps+: Fabrique-laboratoire de recherche-création sur le corps comme objet de consommation 2023/26, artistic and scientific disciplines will be particularly solicited. Embodying current practices, as close as possible to the elements and to contemporary research-creation, these arts and sciences will be at the heart of the programme of actions, as much as the alternative, non-official, imaginary and fictional domains.

This multidisciplinary research-creation program of K3MK Company wishes to initiate the reflection on the body, the realization of mediation actions, the production of new shows questioning the diffusion in the social fabric of a requirement of realization of actions and works through the aesthetics of the body or thinking the body as an object of consumption.

Objectives

In the continuity of K3MK Company's major projects in the field of the performing arts, the FabriKaCorps+ project aims to question this societal upheaval and the pervasiveness of the ethical issue of the body. Are we legitimate to recreate the body, to transform it?

The FARIKACORPS+ call for applications aims to select artists and researchers. The latter will be invited to participate in one or more actions in order to give life to the project. This participation will include remuneration, payment of travel expenses, accommodation and meals. A participation or commissioning contract will be established by K3MK Company with the artist or researcher to formalise this participation/collaboration in one of the project's components.

The artists, researchers, the public associated or participating will be accompanied in their participation/collaboration by the managers of the "Lab Media Project" and "K3+ & Co" poles and the project manager for mediation and commissions of K3MK Company and the managers of the partner venues of this participation.

Restitution

This call for participation constitutes a corpus, during a time of research, creation, performance, workshop, seminar, conference... of restitution of the participation in the various partner places which will be part of the FabriKaCorps+ project: Fabrique-laboratoire de recherche-création pluridisciplinaire sur le corps comme objet de consommation 2023/26 as well as a scenic work, a radio broadcast, a multimedia installation and the publication rdv carnets de recherche-création will give an account of the work done. A proposal of a determined number of actions for each artist, researcher or associated public will be made by the FabriKaCorps+ project manager and the K3MK Company steering group, with a view to their participation in the body factory.
