[IMPRO SESSIONS - Call for participation]

Impro Sessions I Ensemble Art PerformanceOn an initiative of K3MK Company, the Ensemble Art Performance, in partnership with theatres, centres, galleries and museums of contemporary art, is launching a call for participation in the project entitled IMPRO SESSIONS.

Open to a diversity of artistic practices, this call for applications is addressed to dancers, actors, musicians, singers, visual artists, video artists and performers. s and invites them to take up the theme of the body echoing our world, its contemporary issues and its relationship with the new representations of the performative body, in the framework of the Impro Sessions organised by the performance pole "Ensemble Art Performance" of K3MK Company from September 2023 onwards in Geneva, Lausanne, Brussels, Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Grenoble, Annecy... with 2 sessions per month (20 dates).

On the occasion of the Impro Sessions, 2023/24 edition, seven disciplines will be particularly highlighted: theatre, dance, music, singing, fashion, photography, and video. Embodying current practices, as close as possible to the elements and to contemporary creation, these performing arts will be at the heart of the performance programme, as much as the alternative, unofficial, imaginary and fictional arts.

The dynamic relationship between body, image and performing arts is linked - among other specificities - to the development of the notion of performance, in all places of society. How can the imperatives of improvisation, instantaneous composition and performance, the values of the relationship with the public "Spect-Actor" of the show being built and carried by this artistic and cultural event be represented today in a defined space-time?

Representing the body differently, beyond the schemes usually linked to its media transmission, is an ever-renewed challenge. For the performing arts, which know no rules, it is also a place where aesthetics intersect, from visual communication to art, from reportage to performance, from fashion to new urban cultures.

The Impro Sessions will be made using all the techniques available for the shaping of the performance, destined for the space of the performance and/or the public space, to be inscribed in a cultural place, in the city and in all the current places of diffusion, using all the resources allowing the diffusion and the sharing of the Impro Sessions.

This performance programme of K3MK Company's Performance Art Ensemble aims to initiate the production of new shows that question the dissemination of a demand for performance in the social fabric through the aesthetics of the body and the performing arts.

Objectives

In the continuity of K3MK Company's major projects in the field of performing arts, this project aims to recognize and encourage the vitality of contemporary creation in the field of performance.

This participation will include remuneration, payment of travel expenses, accommodation and meals. A participation contract will be established by K3MK Company with the artist to formalise this participation in one of the project's cities.

The artists will be accompanied in their participation by the head of the "Ensemble Art Performance" department and project manager of the Impro Sessions of K3MK Company and the managers of the partner venues.
